Inter coach Walter Mazzarri was delighted with his side’s performance and the strength of his squad following their 1-0 win against Dnipro in their opening Europa League Group F fixture.

Danilo D’Ambrosio’s second-half strike in the second-half at the NSK Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv means that the Nerazzurri remain unbeaten and have kept clean sheets in all five of their first competitive matches this so far season.

“We played a great game,” the 52-year-old tactician told the club’s official website after the match.

“We have given almost nothing away against a tough team.

“I can say that I am happy, though towards the end we should’ve paid more attention.

“My team was a constant danger for Dnipro and in the second half we could’ve scored even more to finish off the game.

Mazzarri also commented on the importance of securing an away victory in Ukraine.

“We knew they would start at full speed and not given us any space, but we prepared for this match in a certain way and had some lads making their European debuts,” he continued.

“Important victory? Yes, very much so.

“It will not be easy for anybody here to win against a team that is doing well in the league.

“I was pleased to play a good game, because we have changed a lot in training and this is proof that we have a good squad.”
