Juventus summer signing Alvaro Morata has revealed he is delighted with his start to life in Turin and has described his new club as a family.

The 21-year-old Spaniard has been hampered by injury since joining the Serie A champions from Real Madrid for a fee of €20 million, but his recent return to full fitness has reinvigorated the striker as he prepares for Saturday’s clash against AC Milan.

“My adventure in Italy has started very well and I could not feel better. I like the city, my teammates have made me feel welcome and my fitness feels great,” the Spanish forward told Marca.

“My recovery has been swift, the medics and physios have done a great job. Now I must regain my form.”

The former Madrid man went on to comment on his career thus far, claiming that playing for the Vecchia Signora is another dream come true.

“Playing for Real [Madrid] was incredible but now I am with Juve and ready for a new challenge.

“Leaving Real proved difficult but when you come to a team like Juve and they have complete faith in you…lets say I couldn’t ask for any more. Playing for Juve is another dream come true.

“I like that the boss [Massimiliano Allegri] talks with me, I feel like an important part of the squad.”

Morata also reflected on the warm welcome he has received from his teammates and how meeting, Gianluigi Buffon, was particularly special for the youngster.

“It was an incredible moment [when I met Buffon]. To play and share the dressing room with him is a privilege.

“I took his shirt at the Bernabeu, and he was the first one here to give me advice.”

Fernando Llorente has also been especially influential in helping his Spanish compatriot settle into life at Juventus.

“I’ve been lucky enough to meet someone like Fernando [Llorente] and apart from admiring him as a player, he has helped me in everything and taken care of me.

“He brings me to training, tells me where to eat or shop. We share a room when we’re away. He’s a great guy. He also gives me Italian lessons! I can’t ask for any more.

“The truth is almost everyone has taken me home after training. One of them even took me to the dentist. These players are a family.

“Juve were persistent in their attempts to sign me, and now I just want to give something back and help them win more trophies.”
