Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan feels his side are ready for the Champions League following a 1-0 victory over Empoli on Saturday.

Nainggolan picked up his second Serie A goal of the season after having previously scored in Roma’s 2-0 victory over Fiorentina.

“It was important to win in a difficult place like this,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We alway need to get the three points in order to aim higher.

“It was a tough game but now we must look forward. Athletically we were challenged as Empoli had a lot of incentive to beat a great team like Roma.

“The way the Tuscans set up put us in a lot of difficulty. Now we are thinking of the next game and we want to win lots of matches to put us higher in the league. We have to work and improve.”

The 26-year-old Belgian international also addressed the Giallorossi’s upcoming Champions League match against CSKA Moscow .

“It is a big change, we will be ready for the game and then we’ll think about the next Serie A game.”
