david lopez espanyolNew Napoli signing David Lopez has written a farewell letter to the fans of Espanyol, thanking them for his time at the club.

The 24-year-old, who made 41 appearances in all competitions for Espanyol, came through the club’s youth system and has now left to join the Partenopei for a €5 million fee.

“I have mixed feelings, as it feels weird to leave this club after becoming a part of this big family,” he wrote on Espanyol’s official website.

“First of all I want to thank the club for the trust they have placed in me, as well as allowing me to grow as a person and as a player.

“Also thanks to the fans for their great support and loyalty.

“Finally, thanks to my teammates and the technicians that I had. I have learned something from all of them and their memory and their friendship will remain with me for the rest of my life.

“I am very happy to start this new adventure, and I can’t wait to improve myself further.”

Now, Lopez will start a new chapter in his career at Napoli under the wings of coach Rafael Benitez.
