Roma president James Pallotta has reiterated the capital city club’s intentions of keeping Kevin Strootman and took a shot at the English media for all of the false reports claiming otherwise.

The 24-year-old has been continuously linked with a move to Manchester United since the summer despite the Giallorossi’s constant denial of any negotiations taking place and it seems the Italian side’s president has decided to set the record straight once and for all after growing tired of constantly hearing these rumours.

Pallotta spoke through Roma’s official Twitter page about Strootman’s transfer situation and confirmed the club’s plans to keep the Dutchman in Rome for quite some time.

“Due to continuous rumours reported in the English press regarding Strootman and Manchester United, I want to restate that Kevin is not on the market,” said the Lupi chief.

“Roma have never even considered putting Strootman up for sale. The English press is just wasting paper, because Kevin is seen as an integral highly valued partner in our long term plans.”
