Parolo: Great win for Lazio but I must thank Cesena

Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo was delighted with his team’s 3-0 win over Cesena, though he did pay tribute to his former side for their role in launching his career.

The 29-year-old, whose goal was sandwiched between Antonio Candreva’s volley and Stefano Mauri’s late strike, spoke of his delight to finally getting his first win with his new club.

“We completely dominated the game. I do not think that they had any shots on goal,” he stated as reported by lalaziosiamonoi.it.

“We were able to exploit the key situations and this victory will set us up on our way after our disappointing performance at the San Siro last week. I am really happy for the fans.”

Despite the win, Parolo also reserved some words of comfort for his former club.

“With regards to my former past with Cesena, I only have beautiful memories of my time there.

“Even though I scored against them today, I want to thank the club and the fans for everything during my time spent at the club.”
