In the 28th minute Bologna took the lead as they began to take charge of the match through Buchel who picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and sent a ferocious shot into the top corner.
Two minutes later the Rossoblu doubled their lead when Karim Laribi played in Acquafresca who slotted into the bottom corner past Vincenzo Fiorillo.
The away side added a third seven minutes later, exploiting a defensive error in which Casarini curled the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Bologna went into the break 3-0 up and full value for their lead with Pescara making unforced errors and the Rossoblu taking their chances.
Pescara pulled one back in the 52nd minute when Bartosz Salamon’s header found the back of the net after an error by Ferdinando Coppola.
The home side were then awarded a penalty in the 65th minute causing Bologna goalkeeper Coppola to receive his marching orders for bringing Maniero down in the penalty area.
In the corresponding penalty Maniero smashed the ball high into the top corner giving substitute goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic no chance and reducing the scoreline to just 3-2.
Two minutes from time Pescara were also reduced to 10 men when Salamon received his second yellow card for a blatant foul on Ruben Bentancourt as Bologna.
The drama though was not over yet as Pescara came agonsingly close in the final minutes when Bologna man Luca Ceccarelli attempted to clear the ball off the line when it sliced onto the post and bounced away off a Pescara player.
The Rossoblu held out during the sustained pressure and earned their first win of the season in an eventful match.
