Italian striker Mattia Destro has expressed his satisfaction after scoring a wonder-strike in his side’s 2-0 triumph over Hellas Verona.
The 23-year-old received the ball from just inside the Gialloblu’s half, before firing a shot from 40-yards out, catching goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini off his line and sending the crowd into raptures.
Speaking to Sky Sport the forward could not hide his jubilation after scoring such a fabulous goal.
“My goal? I was so far out, I saw the goalkeeper [Gollini] off his line, I tried and I succeeded,” Destro said.
After failing to find the back of the net in his first two games the Italian international has now scored in two goals in his last three matches.
