Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza has revealed that he hopes to make a move to a top European club in the future.

The 23-year-old had been co-owned by Juventus up until the Neroverdi bought him outright in June and he remains a target of several top teams besides the Bianconeri, though he admits that he’s focused on doing well for Sassuolo for the time being.

Zaza spoke to Sport Mediaset about his future and the objectives he has set for himself, while also commenting on Sassuolo’s next match against Inter on Sunday.

“For me, everything has been changing from day to day and I’m glad to have these opportunities,” said the Italian international, who just recently made his debut with Italy’s senior team under Antonio Conte and scored in his country’s 2-0 Euro 2016 qualifier win over Norway on September 9.

“The match against Inter? The difficulty facing a team like that is always confirmed. However, I’ve proved to people and myself what I can do, so I’m happy.

“It will be a tough match at the San Siro, but we can have our say. At this moment we may be able to do well.

“Juve in the future? Obviously if I can continue to do well my desire will be to join a top European club, I do not set any limits on myself.

“Why did I cut my beard? I feel more cleaned up now, it was beginning to bother me.”
