Former Livorno striker Innocent Emeghara admits he has been in contact with a number of clubs as reports of a move to Fiorentina continue to gather steam.

The Swiss international is currently without a club after being released by Siena, and has been suggested as a replacement for the injured Giuseppe Rossi.

“I know nothing [about it],” he told Tuscan station Radio Blu about being linked with the Viola.

“I cannot say anything now as I am in contact with many teams.

“Would I like to go to Fiorentina? For sure. They are a great team, and Florence is a beautiful city, but for now I can’t say anything.”

The Nigerian-born forward also commented on Rossi, whose place he would be expected to fill.

“He’s a great player. I feel sorry for what happened to him.”

Emeghara joined Siena in early 2013, scoring seven goals for the Robur in just 17 appearances before spending a season on loan with Livorno.
