Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal’s knee problems look to have struck again after the midfielder broke down during training whilst on international duty.

The 27-year-old, who is currently in Miami with the Chilean national team, has had a number of problems with his knee in the past and had surgery at the back end of last season in order to try and solve the issue, which resulted in him only just making the World Cup in the summer.

According to The Daily Express, the player broke down in training after aggravating the his right-knee. Though the extent of the issue is as yet unknown

It will be a big cause for concern for new Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, with last season’s Scudetto winners already having lost fellow centre midfielder Andrea Pirlo for the first month of the season with a hip injury.

Earlier this month, Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli told Chilean newspaper El Mercurio that the midfielder’s injury problems where what scuppered a much rumoured summer move to Manchester United.

He was quoted as saying: ”The problem in Vidal’s transfer from Juventus to Manchester United for $80 million dollars is the doubt that Van Gaal has with respect to the improvement of Arturo’s knee.”

Vidal is a major doubt for Chile’s upcoming friendlies against Mexico and Haiti and will be assessed in the coming days.
