Italy v Netherlands - ZazaSimone Zaza was delighted with his performance as Italy defeated the Netherlands 2-0 on Thursday evening.

The Sassuolo star made his international debut at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari, in what was also Antonio Conte’s debut as Azzurri coach, and won the penalty for the Azzurri’s second goal. The first came from Ciro Immobile.

“I’m really happy and satisfied with my performance.” Zaza told Rai Sport.

“I won the penalty, that’s true, but I also missed really easy goal. Those are my limits, sometimes I miss easy chances.

“I was not expecting to be called-up, just as I did not expect the first call-up from [former Italy coach Cesare] Prandelli at the beginning of summer. Now I’ll do anything to keep wearing this shirt.

“Immobile and I have never played together before, but we worked very well together, which is a good sign for the future.”
