AC Milan are reportedly set to reinforce their midfield with one of Asier Illarramendi or Isco from Real Madrid.
Twenty-four-year-old Illarramendi has only started one La Liga match so far this season, while Isco had been a substitute more often than not.
According to Rai Sport, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani will look to bring one of the two midfielders to the San Siro on loan in January.
The 70-year-old has a good relationship with Madrid president Florentino Pérez, as well as coach Carlo Ancelotti, and it is thought a temporary deal could be worked out.
Milan are also said to be targeting Leonel Vangioni of River Plate and Lasse Schöne of Ajax.
