Rafa-Benitez-turista-a-NapoliNapoli coach Rafael Benitez praised his players following his side’s 6-2 demolition of Hellas Verona in Serie A on Sunday.

Gonzalo Higuain hit a hat-trick, Marek Hamsik got a brace and Jose Callejon netted once to put six past Verona, but there were defensive errors leading to the away side’s goals.

“Today I liked almost everything, but clearly there is always something that can be improved and the win could have been even greater,” Benitez told the press.

“The game sends out a message of how good this team really is. After we conceded the first goal, we controlled the game.

“We let out the anger today but now we have to come back and concentrate on the game on Wednesday.”

The Napoli tactician then pointed his finger at his team’s defending for the goals they conceded.

“There was a defensive error for the first goal but in the first minute this can happen. The second goal could have been dealt better by the defence, but the most important thing was the reaction the team gave from start to finish.”

Napoli travel to Atalanta on Wednesday in hope of climbing in to the top four places.
