Norway v Italy - BonucciItaly defender Leonardo Bonucci backed the views of strikers Simeone Zaza and Ciro Immobile that they are both ‘ignorant’ and believes that it is that ignorance that flows throughout the Azzurri team, which witnessed them clinch vital points as they did on Friday night against Azerbaijan.

Antonio Conte’s side won 2-1 and had taken the lead at the Stadio Renzo Barbera through Giorgio Chiellini, only for the Juventus man to level the scores with an own goal before then netting the winner with just minutes remaining.

“For me ‘ignorant’ means the desire to fight for every ball, even when it might be a better to be a bit more conservative and I agree with them,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.

“Ours is a national ignorance. This is an Italian team with attributes that always puts pride first because on every occasion, we want to bring home the three points.”
