Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has revealed that the Old Lady have no excuses for their away draw with Sassuolo and are now fully concentrated on their Champions League meeting with Olympiacos on Wednesday.

The Bianconeri had to settle for a point as the Neroverdi ended the reigning Serie A champions’ winning streak with a 1-1 draw on Saturday but the 27-year-old insists that the Italian side will stage a comeback beginning with a European victory over Thrylos in Greece.

Bonucci spoke through his official website on Sunday about the result against Sassuolo and was adamant that Juventus will now give their all in order to bounce back against Olympiacos, with the objective of eventually making it to the Champions League final.

“There are no excuses,” said the Italian international. “The game between Juventus and Sassuolo was a game where we should have won more than a point.

“However, last season we also had to win against Fiorentina and ended up losing, but that was the turning point of our season.

“So we will do the best we can after this draw and give 110 per cent. We’ve taken a step back but now we’re ready to jump forward more than ever!

“We expect to make it to the final of the Champions League and I think that this is just the right time to show we can do it.

“We will go to Athens more hungry to win than ever. Atletico Madrid have lost to them. We have only one goal: to win.

“So as always, may the best man win. Fino alla fine, Forza Juventus.”
