Inter goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo believes that the Biscione could have put on a better showing in their Europa League meeting with Qarabag on Thursday, but is still happy to have earned the three points.

The Nerazzurri secured a 2-0 victory at the San Siro with goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and Mauro Icardi and have now won both of their first two group stage matches in the competition, though it seems the 30-year-old feels there may be work to do.

Carrizo spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the victory about Inter’s mediocre performance against Qarabag and admitted that the most important thing was to win.

“The game was not as good as maybe we thought we could do,” said the Argentine. “But the important thing was earning the three points and we were able to get them.”

The San Siro outfit’s next Europa League meeting will be against French side Saint-Etienne at home on October 23.
