Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco was pleased with his side’s ability to carry momentum from the draw against Juventus, and defeat Parma 3-1 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday evening.

Goals from Sergio Floccari, Francesco Acerbi and Saphir Taider handed the Nervoverdi their first win of the season and ensured that the Ducali stay rooted at the bottom of the Serie A table despite talisman Antonio Cassano scoring a late goal.

“We were good and imposed our game,” Di Francesco told Rai Radio post match.

“I’m happy we carried on our good work from the draw against Juventus and we must continue on this path.

“These three points give us momentum and repay us for some disappointments, as we probably should have had a few more points.”

Encountering a rocky start to the season, including a 7-0 thrashing against Inter, the win lifts Sassuolo out of the relegation zone. Reflecting back on the massive defeat against Inter.

“It can happen to anyone, just like it happened to Roma in the Champions League. It was a bad day and I am glad we managed to overcome it as such a defeat can weigh down a team. I repeat, today’s victory is a reward for our work.”
