Initial reports suggest that the German has not yet reached full fitness but he should be ready for inclusion in Fiorentina’s next matchday squad for the game against Lazio on October 19.
According to La Nazione, Gomez underwent a check-up on the morning of October 13 to evaluate his fitness.
The check-up did not lead to the writing of an official medical report but the Gigliati have been led to believe informally that Gomez’s condition has improved to the extent that he is back in contention for selection.
It has been reported that the former Bayern Munich forward will still need a bit of time to return to his peak physical condition and the club will need to be patient as he attempts to get back to full match sharpness.
Gomez made nine appearances and scored three times during the 2013-14 Serie A season as he struggled with injury during his first season in Italy.
