GarganoNapoli midfielder Walter Gargano is thankful for the opportunity to play with the Azzurri under coach Rafa Benitez this season and insists that he’s willing to give his maximum effort to the club.

The 30-year-old, who has been with the Partenopei since 2007, had spent the last two seasons out on loan with Inter and Parma respectively, but is happy to be able to remain with the San Paolo outfit and hopes to aid the team in their quest for success.

Gargano spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli about his chance to prove himself in Naples this season and commented on the club’s next Serie A match against Inter on October 19, while also expressing his gratitude to Benitez for the tactician’s belief in him.

“The match against Inter will be important, it will be a challenge between two great coaches,” said the Uruguayan.

“My second adventure with Napoli? There’s always competition for this shirt, the past is gone and I must only think of the present. I will give my best for the coach.

“Benitez? It has not been easy for me to integrate into the squad and any improvements shown by me is because of the team.

“I will always give my all for the Napoli shirt and this is what I need to do. I thank the coach for this opportunity.”
