Inter striker Mauro Icardi has hit back at the fans who booed the team and coach Walter Mazzarri, after the team’s 3-0 loss to Fiorentina.
Booing and whistling was clearly audible to the team as they left the Stadio Artemio Franchi pitch, in the last match before the two-week international break.
“True fans do not boo.”, the Argentina international told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The real fans play a waiting game to see how it goes, then they decide.
“I repeat, you do not whistle. Instead they should root for their team and their coach.”
Icardi averages a goal every two Serie A games in Nerazzurri colours, and has three already this season.
