Inter president Erick Thohir has stressed his support for Walter Mazzarri as coach of the club, following two consecutive defeats in the Serie A.
The Tuscan coach came under intense scrutiny following the Nerazzurri’s 4-1 defeat to Cagliari at home a fortnight ago, before suffering another embarrassing defeat to Fiorentina at the weekend, losing 3-0.
“Mazzarri will continue to do his best for Inter, and he deserves a chance,” Thohir stated publicly while speaking to Sky Sport Italia.
Reports suggest that Thohir phoned Mazzarri personally, during which he instilled his confidence in the coach.
It is a solid vote of confidence for Mazzarri who has the club in 10th position in the Serie A table with just two wins from six games.
