Recent events indicate that Pirelli may still be Inter’s main sponsor after  CEO Micheal Bolingbroke had indicated otherwise.

Bolingbroke had suggested the possibility of parting ways from Pirelli at a shareholders meet held in in October.

“In June we’ll celebrate 20 years with Pirelli as a partner and as far as I know it is the longest partnership in footballing history,” Bolingbroke said.

“Not even the one between and Carlsberg lasted as long as this. It seems impossible to imagine ourselves without Pirelli, but everything comes to an end.”

But on Wednesday morning the President of the Pirelli Group, Marco Tronchetti Provera addressed the issue on the sidelines of the European Corporate Governance Conference.

“There is a contract that lasts another two years,” he said.

He also told the media that Pirelli and  are still negotiating: “The deal, however is in progress.”

In fact, met Tronchetti Provera after the game against to discuss the renewal of five- year increase of investment of €16-20 million compared to the current € 13-14 million.
