Italy U21 inteandrea belotti italy u21rnational Andrea Belotti believes that the secret to success for the young Azzurri is their consolidated unit.

The 20-year-old is set to start for coach Luigi Di Biagio on Tuesday afternoon against Slovakia in the qualifiers for the European Championships, and aims to collect all three points following a 1-1 draw away from home.

“The game against Slovakia? It’s a very important match where we will try to do our best,” he told Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport.

“On paper, we have good results, but we must only aim for the victory because we have the quality to bag the win.

“Me as a striker for the future? I just think of playing and I do not want to build it up in the head because otherwise there’s the risk of not being able to do what I have to.

“I have to stay focused to help Palermo and my national team.

“The secret to the U21s? The secret is the whole group! From the first day we met, we have tried to work on our individual qualities and thanks to the coach and to to his staff, we were able to improve a lot.

“Revenge of the young Italians on the many foreigners? After what we have shown in the group I think that the guys in this squad deserve to have some great opportunities in the future.

“Personally I always try to do my best, with both the national team as well as Palermo. I’m not afraid, I just want to do well when I leave the bench.

“So many foreigners in Italy? So far, it’s been that way as we’re always looking for ready-made players. The results of this national team have been a strong signal for the whole of Italian football. We can all do well.”

The U21 qualifier between Italy and Slovakia will get underway at 3pm CET, with Belotti looking to add to his impressive tally of seven goals in 11 outings for the Nazionale.
