Liverpool are reportedly interested in landing Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

After the departure of Luis Suarez, the Reds have had a difficult start to the campaign as summer signing Mario Balotelli has failed to impress since making the move from AC Milan.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are already looking for replacements and would reportedly be willing to make an offer of  28 million plus Lucas Leiva in an attempt to land the Argentine.

Higuain has impressed since joining the Partenopei from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, but recent reports have suggested he could be ready to move on should the Azzurri fail to make a serious run for the Scudetto this season.

Higuain has scored 27 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
