Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini has spoken of how happy he was of his team’s start to the new season after a 1–0 win over Cagliari. The Verona coach also praised the performance of match-winner Panagiotis Tachtsidis.

Hellas Verona have already tallied up 11 points in their opening six Serie A fixtures, currently fifth in the table ahead of AC Milan’s later match against Chievo Verona.

“We played an open game and we are very happy of a victory I think we deserved,” said Mandorlini to Sky Sport Italia.

“We are happy with being on 11 points, it is a really nice haul for us.

“The team wanted to win, we created many opportunities and hit the crossbar twice.”

The Hellas Verona coach particularly highlighted the performance from Tachtsidis, congratulating the Greek’s growth.

“I am very fond of him,” said Mandorlini. “He is a great guy and has good qualities.”

“I am very pleased and he can be important for us.

“He has matured and I am happy.”

Hellas Verona have only lost once this year in Serie A, and maintaining the kind of form that saw them shine last season in Serie A.
