Juventus forward Alvaro Morata, believes Roma legend Francesco Totti was wrong in verbalising his frustrations following the Bianconeri’s controversial 3-2 victory.
The 21-year-old says the match was crucial and hard fought for both sides and is adamant that if the Giallorossi were to have won, Totti would not have complained.
“It was a very heated match, it is not easy to digest a defeat in such an important challenge, especially if it came in the last few minutes,” Morata told Goal.com.
“Totti is an amazing player, a legend, but he should not have said what he did.
“If they were to have won, I would have said nothing.”
The Spanish international spoke also of his red card, saying the decision made by referee Gianluca Rocchi was questionable.
“I did not do anything, it was a very strange decision, I went in hard but in such matches you have to be tough.
“In a previous incident, I was pushed into the billboards, this is football. My team needed aggression to deal with our opponents.”
“The important thing is winning.”
