Andrea Pirlo has claimed that Italy’s 2-1 victory over Azerbaijan was a tough match.
Italy continued their 100 percent record in qualifying for Euro 2016 but Pirlo believes Italy could have easily not won the match.
“It is hard to play against opponents who man mark you,” Pirlo told Rai Sport after the game.
“We were not able to close the game out and so the game was always in the balance.
“These games can thus be decided on small margins or on individual mistakes.
“We tried to change something with Bonucci.
“He played further forward as I was being tightly marked
“It is not something unusual as now I am used to this type of game”.
