AC Milan defeated Chievo 2-0 the San Siro in Serie A action on Saturday night.

After a poor first half, Sulley Muntari second half strike and a quality free kick from Keisuke Honda gave the Rossoneri a much needed win after two consecutive draws against Empoli and Cesena respectively.

The win sees the Rossoneri jump into fifth place while Chievo remain in 16th, just one point above the relegation spots.

AC Milan

Christian Abbiati- 5.5 – Bored

Nothing much to do but when called upon dealt with things comfortably.

Ignazio Abate- 6.5 – Decent

Good in both aspects of the game, always available to assist the attack and when needed defended well.

Alex- 6 – Strong

Dealt with everything asked of him and never looked troubled.

Adil Rami- 6 – Firm

Had a good battle with Maxi Lopez in the first half, forming a decent partnership with Alex.

Mattia De Sciglio- 5.5 – Indifferent

Looked poor in the first half and improved in the second but was never really troubled defensively.

Sulley Muntari- 5.5 – Muntari-esque

Scored the first goal with a miss-hit shot, nearly gave away a goal and was poor with his distribution.

Nigel De Jong- 6 – Dependable

Did what he does best: reading the game well and broke up countless Chievo moves in the midfield.

Giacomo Bonaventura- 6.5 – Energetic

Covered the pitch with high energy and some quality touches. Settling well in his new surroundings.

Keisuke Honda- 6 – Inconsistent

Scored a great free kick but also missed an open goal and at time slowed the game down

Fernando Torres- 5.5- Promising

Good movement and energy but he was often let down by the final ball. Visibly annoyed when substituted.

Jeremy Menez- 7 – Quality

The fulcrum of the Milan attack, linked with the midfield and attacked well with trickery and pace.

Substitutes

Stephan El Shaarawy – 5 – Ineffective

Came on for Torres and had a couple of good runs but was also booked.

Andrea Poli N/A

Michael Essien N/A

Chievo

Francesco Bardi- 7 – Immense

Could do nothing on either goal and made three good saves during the game to keep his team in the match.

Nicolas Frey- 5.5 – Limited

Did well defensively but was stunted going forward by Bonaventura.

Dario Dainelli- 5.5 – Coped

Was not really troubled by Milan’s forwards and dealt with things aerially in his penalty area.

Ervin Zukanovic- 5.5 – Adequate

Rarely troubled by the movement of Milan’s attack but like the rest of his teammates, offered little moving foward.

Cristiano Biraghi- 5 – Mixed

Poor clearing header lead to first goal but also made a goal saving clearance.

Ivan Radovanovic- 5 – Struggled

Hardly had any influence on the game and was largely anonymous.

Isaac Cofie- 3 – Hatchet

Contributed nothing to the game other than conceding fouls and conceding possession.

Perparim Hetemaj- 4.5- Lacking

Worked hard but failed to make an impact on the game as Chievo were more focused on keeping things tight defensively.

Valter Birsa- 3.5 – Missing

The on-loan Rossoneri midfielder will not remember this match as he was nowhere to be found on his return to the San Siro.

Alberto Paloschi- 4 – Invisible

Only appeared in the game towards the final minutes when his lobbed shot was easily saved by Abbiati.

Maxi Lopez- 5 – Workmanlike

Struggled against the Milan central defenders but still made them work, however few chances came his way.

Substitutes

Dejan Lazarevic – 5.5 – Impact

His direct running caused problem. Should have done better when he was sprung for a three-on-one.

Riccardo Meggiorini – 4 – Effort

Closed down well but no chances fell his way. Was booked for an attempted tackle on Abbiati.

Nicola Bellomo – 3.5 – Absent

Came on but his influence on the match was minimal.
