Napoli and Inter played out a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday night in Serie A.
The game burst into life in the final 10 minutes when Jose Callejon put Napoli ahead, before Fredy Guarin equalised, however Callejon scored another to make it 2-1; however, Napoli’s joy was short-lasted as Inter found their equaliser through Hernanes.

Inter
Samir Handanovic – 6 – Solid
The Slovenian was ever-present in the Inter goal on Sunday, not at fault for the two goals conceded, but proved that the Nerazzurri goal is in safe hands.
Andrea Ranocchia – 5.5 – Lacking concentration
The Inter captain was indirectly involved in both of Napoli’s goals, had lapses of concentration at some points in the game.
Nemanja Vidic – 5 – Shambolic
The Serbian’s error contributed to Napoli’s opening goal, and looked fairly out-of-place for the rest of the game.
Juan Jesus – 6.5 – Solid
The Brazilian was thoroughly solid throughout the game, going in for every ball and a definite strong point the Nerazzurri’s defense.
Joel Obi – 5.5 – Uncomfortable
The Nigerian looked very uncomfortable on the night going forward, before being taken off early on in the second half to make way for Ibrahima Mbaye.
Gary Medel – 6 – Strong
The Chilean midfielder was a powerful force in Inter’s midfield, often putting a halt to Napoli’s advances through the middle.
Hernanes – 7.5 – Metronome
In arguably one of his best games in an Inter shirt, the former Lazio man was very unlucky to open the scoring when his strike hit the bar, but was finally rewarded with his equalizing goal towards the end.
Mateo Kovacic – 7 – Influential
The Croatian is showing his potential week in, week out and on Sunday night he played an invaluable role in midfield, often providing the link between defence and attack.
Dodo – 7 – Energetic
The former Roma fullback was everywhere, causing havoc down the left-hand side, and was involved in most of his side’s attacking play.
Did really well considering his prolonged injury period, did his best to try and unlock the Napoli defense before being taken off for Yann M’Viia.
Mauro Icardi – 6 – Ineffective
Despite having the chance to put the Nerazzurri ahead early on in the game, the Argentine was not his usual self for large parts of the game, especially during the second half.
Substitues
Ibrahima M’baye – 5.5 – Irked
Like his teammate, the former Livorno looked very uncomfortable, and was even at fault for the second goal; however, he came agonisingly close to winning the game for Inter towards the end,
Fredy Guarin – 6.5 – Instant
In one of the most influential cameo appearances in Serie A history, the Colombian scored almost instantly after coming on – taking the score to 1-1.
Yann M’Vila – N/A
Came on in the final two minutes.
Napoli
Rafael Cabral – 6 – Faultless
The Brazilian was not at fault for both goals conceded, in fact he kept out several chances which could’ve ended up in the back of the net.
Juan Zuniga – 5 – Poor
Was very disturbed by Dodo down Inter’s left-hand side, often looking lost; definitely the weak link in the Partenopei’s defence throughout the night.
Raul Albiol – 6 – Average
Not at his best, but managed to keep his calm for most of the game, bar some moments where he struggled against Inter’s attacking onslaught.
Kalidou Koulibaly – 6.5 – Tough
Without a doubt the best of the Napoli defence on the night, imposed his presence throughout the game.
Miguel Britos – 6 – Untested
The Uruguyan was untested throughout the night but managed to clear away several dangerous balls in the first half.
Gokhan Inler – 6 – Improved
Terrible throughout the first half; gave the ball away on many occasions, however, the Swiss international significantly in the second half.
David Lopez – 7 – Gritty
Excellent ball to Jose Callejon for Napoli’s second goal, and overall a great performance full of passion on grit; the Spaniard looked very comfortable in the middle of the park, often putting a halt to several of Inter’s offensive play.
Lorenzo Insigne – 6.5 – Sacrificial
The Italian often sacrificed his attacking play to provide cover for Miguel Britos throughout the game, was unlucky not to score on many occasions.
Marek Hamsik – 5 – AWOL
The Slovakian looked a shadow of his former self on the night, made way for Jorginho in the second half.
Jose Callejon – 8 – Star
Literally carried Napoli offensively and was duly rewarded with a brace; very energetic and at the heart of the Napoli attack.
Gonzalo Higuain – 4.5 – Struggled
The Argentine, like Hamsik, looked a shadow of his former self on the night; was marked out of the game by the Inter defence and often found himself dropping deep.
Substitutes
Jorginho – 6 – Nonchalant
Sped up the pace of the game, and provided a really good shif in the middle of the park; looked unrustled and calm.

Failed to impact the game in the final 20 minutes.
Faouzi Ghoulam – 6 – Decent
Surprising that he did not start the game, but managed to put in a decent shift in defence.
