Stramaccioni: Udinese really suffered against Torino

Udinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni has lamented his side’s failure to earn a positive result against Torino.

The Zebrette had headed to the Stadio Olimpico in a rich vein of form that saw them boasting four wins to the Granata’s one, but after 62 minutes the game was decided in favor of the hosts thanks to a goal from former striker Fabio Quagliarella.

The outcome means that Udinese’s bad luck still continues in Turin, and the new coach admits that their opponents put in a good shift from start to finish.

“The first half was very tactical in nature and we gave Torino too much space to play their game,” he conceded to Mediaset following the match.

“And then in the second half they came out raring to go and were quick to exploit any opportunities that came their way. Their attackers, such as Amauri were distributing the ball on both sides of the pitch and we really struggled [to get our footing].

“[However], after the goal we did react well and came pretty close to restoring parity.”
