Ventura - TorinoTorino secured their first Europa League win and moved to four points in their group thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Fabio Quagliarella against Copenhagen in Turin, but coach Giampiero Ventura doesn’t feel his side are dependant on the striker.

Torino are now level on points with Group B rivals Club Brugge after they defeated HJK Helsinki 3-0, and whom the Granata played to a scoreless draw in their opening fixture of the tournament.

“We definitely deserved the win,” stated the coach. ” Winning in this way has been a great joy, so I leapt to relieve the tension.

“We created a lot, we are improving and we are studying to become a great team.

“Torino is not dependent on Quagliarella and in three days we play Napoli. That will be a match that Quagliarella will want to do well in.

“If we play like this, perhaps, the wins will not always come, but we can certainly perform well.”

Torino will resume Europa League play on October 23 against HJK Helsinki.
