AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata believes the Rossoneri did well to limit Fiorentina on Sunday despite only being able to take home a 1-1 draw from the match.
Nigel De Jong gave the home side the lead before Josip Ilicic’s equalizer in the second half, but Zapata believes his side did more than enough to take home all three points.
“We played a good game. Fiorentina did not have many opportunities to score,” he stated after the match as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
“They only had a chance when they drew level when we were a bit open at the back looking to close out the match. Overall, we played a good game.
“The defence is an area that has a lot of valid players and you must always be ready to do well.”
