AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong has indicated that he will renew his contract with the Rossoneri before his current deal expires next summer.

The former Manchester City man has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months but has stated that he is happy to stay with the Rossoneri.

During a press conference as part of his work with the Milan Foundation, the Dutch international spoke openly about his contract situation, his coach and the current form Milan find themselves in.

“Contract? It is a question for [Adriano] Galliani. I’m happy here in Milan and I see no problems for my contract. We’ll see,” the 29-year-old stated

“We did not have a good game against Palermo, but we believe in our goal of finishing in third or fourth place. We go to Genoa with confidence.

“I do not know what happened [against Palermo], but we always play to win and right now it is difficult. We work hard and believe in ourselves.

“It’s not his [Filippo Inzaghi’s] fault, we win and lose together. Of course, when we lose he is the first to be accused because he is the first in front of the cameras. We have to work together.”
