Fiorentina forward Khouma Babacar is set for a contract extension which will see the Senegalese player extend his stay in Florence beyond 2016.
Babacar has impressed this campaign during the absence of Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi through injury and is set to be rewarded for his efforts in which he has scored four goals in 10 appearances.
La Nazione reports that the new deal is only formalities away from being signed, and a verbal agreement is in place between the player an the club.
The deal is set to deter interest from abroad for the forward and an announcement from the club could be made in the next few days.
Babacar, who is a product of the Fiorentina youth academy, has had spells on loan at Racing Club in Spain, in addition to a successful spell at Modena last season in which the 21-year-old scored 20 goals in 41 appearances in Serie B.
