Hamburg midfielderValon Behrami has revealed that he nearly joined Inter during the summer while planning his exit from Napoli.
The Switzerland international has admitted that their was contact with the Nerazzurri in the summer where he would have linked up with then coach Walter Mazzarri, but a move never materialized, allowing Hamburg to swoop in.
”Yes in the summer their was contact,” Behrami told sportalsports.com.
”I would have liked to have worked with Mazzarri again. Unfortunaetly that did not materialize and that door is closed for me now.
“Luckily Hamburg wanted me and I am 100 per cent committed to this new venture.”
The 29-year-old is in the Switzerland squad for their qualifier against Lithuania on Saturday and their friendly against Poland on Tuesday.
