Conte promises determination and passion from Italy against Croatia

Conte - ItalyAntonio Conte has promised passion from his Italy squad when the play Croatia in the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier.

The Azzurri coach, who watched his side labour to a 1-0 win away to Malta last month, is fully aware of the danger posed by the Croatians.

“The game against Croatia at the San Siro will be very important,” he told VivoAzzurro. “We face the strongest rival in the group.

“Croatia is at a strong point in their history because the players in the team today are part of the top clubs in Europe.

“They are a strong group, very established. We have to be careful and the contribution of the fans will be important.

”For our part, we will show great determination, passion and enthusiasm. It is very emotional playing at the San Siro.

“It is called ‘La Scala’ of football with good reason. It is one of the biggest stages in our country. People used to say that you could not be considered a player if you have never played at the San Siro.”

Italy and Croatia are currently level in Group H with nine points, but the Croats have a marginally better goal difference.
