Palermo striker Paulo Dybala has revealed that he wants to stay with the Sicilian side and confirmed that he is aiming to sign a contract renewal in the near future.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Rosanero from Instituto in 2012 and currently has deal which is set to expire in June 2016, has scored four goals and provided two assists in his 11 Serie A appearances this season thus far and admits that he has no plans of leaving the club any time soon despite rumours linking him with a January move to Arsenal.

Dybala spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his wishes to continue his career at Palermo and mentioned his growth as a player since his arrival at the Serie A club, while also commenting on who his footballing idol has been since childhood.

“When I arrived at Palermo I was little, but now I’m not,” said the Argentine. “I’ve grown up a lot in all respects and I understand how football is played here.

“When I first got here it was hard to get used to the Serie A, these past three years have helped me grow and I try to demonstrate my qualities every Sunday.

“My objectives? I want to score as much as possible and at the end of the season we’ll add up all of the numbers.

“My future? We talked about the renewal and we’re negotiating. I hope that we can reach an agreement because I’m happy here and I want to continue playing in this shirt.

“My idol? I always had a poster of Ronaldinho in my room. He was always a player who was fun to watch and had a lot of fun on the field, I’ve always liked the way he plays.”
