Fiorentina’s forward Giuseppe Rossi publicly expressed his delight after reuniting with his teammates more than four months after he left to America for knee treatment.
Rossi’s knee problems started in 2011 when he was sidelined for 18 months during his time with Villareal and have recurred twice since then, most recently in the beginning of September.
“Happy to be back with my team! Great guys,” the U.S.-born Italian posted on Facebook on Sunday.
The Manchester United youth product was in the stands on Sunday and watched how the Viola held off Hellas Verona for an important 2-1 away win that helped them sneak into the first half of the table
Aside from the injury, Rossi’s career with the Viola started very well, having 17 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for Vincenzo Montella’s team. Sixteen of these goals came in his 19 starts.
