Former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia has shed some light regarding his row with former teammates during Casa Milan’s grand opening event last May.

According to the keeper, a handful of representative players were resistant to getting off the bus at the request to greet fans, which sparked arguments between squad members.

“The executives had asked the team to get off the bus to greet fans,” he told Rete Sport’s ‘La Partita Perfetta’. “Many of whom had taken a day off from work to come and see us.

“Our most representative players did not want to go down until they were forced.

“When we went down, some were overly concerned and ended up in a brawl, this was the only time I put my hands on someone, [Daniele] Bonera specifically, but it was called for.

“The bus has blacked out windows, but the story is coming out anyway because someone did not mind their own business, I’m sorry, it happened like this.”

Amelia now plays in the sixth tier of Italian football with Rocco Priora, where he is also honorary president.
