Inter have have confirmed that the club have parted company with head coach Walter Mazzarri with immediate effect.

After a shaky start to the season that sees the club sitting in ninth in the table, they have moved to end their association with the former Napoli boss.

It is understood that the decision was made solely by president Erick Thohir due to his displeasure with the season so far.

A club statement read: “We would like to thank Mazzarri for his commitment, dedication and professionalism he showed over his 17 months in charge.”

Friday’s training session at the Nerazzurri, for those not currently away on international duty, will be taken by Giuseppe Baresi.
