Filippo Inzaghi AC MilanFilippo Inzaghi has taken responsibility for AC Milan’s disappointing performance after they lost 2-0 at the Stadio Meazza on Sunday night to an impressive Palermo side.

Milan suffered at the hands of Palermo’s incisiveness in the first half as the Sicilian’s struck twice in the space of three minutes to shock the home team.

“Palermo are a difficult team to deal with and also did well in Naples and Turin,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia following the game.

“We had chances before their goals, then they deserved to score and they deserved to win. Our growth continues with these defeats and setbacks.

“I am to blame for this performance, I am primarily responsible. Now I will analyse the game to understand the reasons for the defeat, but we must now turn the page and think about the trip to Genoa.

“Milan have done many good things so far but tonight’s game started badly and ended worse. The growth process continues through these moments. Congratulations to Palermo, we sit in eighth place and keep our feet firmly on the ground.”

With this result Milan have now gone three games without a victory.
