Pontus Jansson was understandably disappointed after Torino’s 2-1 defeat to HJK Helsinki in the Europa League on Thursday, but feels some blame can be put on the pitch in Finland.

The Granata went down to two set piece goals from Gideon Baah and Valtteri Moren at the Sonera Stadium on Thursday night.

“It is difficult to say straight after the game,” he told Forza Italian Football.

“We didn’t play well today, the last 15 minutes we played better. The goals came from set-pieces but I have to see them again. It wasnt a good game today.

“We can’t blame the weather, maybe the pitch, but the weather is the same for them. But we can’t use the weather as an excuse.”

After the match Torino coach was audible in his criticism of the players in the dressing room.

“He didn’t say anything,” the Swede said sharply. “We will talk tomorrow.

“We have to be angry and sad now, and look forward to the match against Roma on Sunday. New games are always coming up, so we have to focus on that.”
