Former Italy boss Marcello Lippi has not ruled out a return to international management after recently declaring that he would leave the post of Guanghzou Evergrande.

The 66-year-old 2006 World Cup winning coach immediately indicated that he would be taking on the role of Director of Football at the Chinese Super League Side, on the back on leading them to their third straight title last week.

“Enough of being a coach, I am old,” Lippi said to Rai Sport.

He has gone one step further in recent days, saying that he would like to continue coaching, albeit not at club level.

“When I finish my contract here [in China], if I were to receive an offer to coach a national side, I would consider it,” he revealed.

“I feel as if I am still in form.”

Lippi categorically ruled out a return to the Italy post when speaking to reporters in Melbourne in June.
