Walter Mazzarri has been sacked by Inter and will be replaced with Roberto Mancini, according to reports in Italy.

Mazzarri had found himself under-fire after a poor run of results leaving them ninth in the Serie A table and is believed to have been relieved of his duties as head coach at the San Siro.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Erick Thohir has taken the decision to sack Mazzarri and replace him with former Inter boss Mancini.

Mancini spent four seasons with the Nerazzurri, winning three Scudetti and two Coppa Italia before moving onto Manchester City. He has been out of work since leaving Galatasary before the summer.

The 49-year-old could take charge of Inter for the first time in six years for the Milan derby on November 23.
