Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne will miss an unspecified period of time on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury in the match against Fiorentina.
The 23-year-old hobbled off the field after just 25 minutes and was replaced by Belgian Dries Mertens in the 1-0 away victory to The Viola.
Napoli stated, via the club’s Twitter account, the Italian international suffered a sprain in his right knee causing ligament damage.
However, the full extent of the injury remains unclear until further medical tests are conducted on Monday.
Insigne has accumulated nine Serie A appearances this season, scoring once and assisting a further two.
