Rafa-Benitez-turista-a-NapoliNapoli coach Rafa Benitez hailed his team’s effort following their slim win over Fiorentina on the road.

The Partenopei had to wait until the second half to finally break the deadlock through a goal from Gonzalo Higuain and were able to withstand numerous Viola attacking attempts to hold on for a vital three points.

“I was pleased with their effort during the first half, but we really had to work hard and suffered against them,” the Spaniard stated to Sky Sport Italia after the game.

However, when it came to discussing their place in the table, the former Inter and Liverpool coach was a bit more cautious in his response and was not quick to get ahead of himself.

“[While it’s good] that we are currently in third place, [it’s important to recognize that] we are [only] there for the next two weeks. It will be important to use [the international break] to rest, recover, and fully prepare for the next upcoming match against Cagliari.”
