Juventus star midfielder Andrea Pirlo lauded his club’s 2-0 win over Empoli and the signal it sent.
Pirlo’s free kick goal helped secure the Old Lady three points to go clear at the top in the Serie A table. Prior to the Empoli fixture, Juventus shared first place with Roma, but the Giallorossi lost to Napoli earlier on Saturday.
“Today Roma lost and we had to give an important signal,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
“We were able to win and now we are getting ready for Tuesday. I’m growing physically, every match I feel better and I hope to get there as early as possible in the best condition.”
The Bianconeri face Olympiacos in their second fixture at Juventus Stadium on Tuesday, and were defeated 1-0 by the Greek side in their previous Champions League fixture.
