Torosidis – Roma

Roma defender Vasilis Torosidis sidelined after being diagnosed with calf strain.

The Greek defender will face at least one week on the sidelines after being diagnosed with grade one calf strain.

Medical tests performed on the player have revealed a stretch of first instance on the external side of the right calf.

Although a grade one calf strain is least severe, the recovery time is estimated at a week or two, this means that the player will not available when Roma takes on Inter on Sunday.

“Earlier today, Vasilis Torosidis underwent medical tests that revealed a grade-one strain to his right calf,” read a statement on Roma’s official website.

“The player has already started treatment on the injury.”

Torosidis joins fellow defenders Maicon, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Leandro Castan on Roma’s injury list.
