Sassuolo forward Simone Zaza stated that he will be happy to share the pitch with Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli for Italy’s upcoming match against Croatia should the chance arise.
Antonio Conte chose to recall Balotelli despite his struggles with Liverpool, joining the likes of Zaza and other forwards Ciro Immobile, Graziano Pelle, and Sebastian Giovinco in the squad.
Zaza spoke to Sportmediaset about Conte’s squad for the fixture against Croatia and only good things to say about his countryman.
“To me Balotelli is a great player, in this context I will have the possibility to get to know him,” Zaza explained to the media outlet.
“We knew that sooner or later he would make it on the squad because he is one of the best Italian strikers.”
Zaza has scored one goal in three appearances for the Azzurri.
